Stewart Eads, CFA

R. Stewart Eads, President, is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charterholder and has an MBA degree from the Wharton Graduate School at the University of Pennsylvania along with bachelors and masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.  He was admitted to Sigma Xi Research Honor Society, Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society and Eta Kappa Nu Electrical Engineering Honor Society.

Stewart spent 15 years in the Atlanta office of the Boston-based investment management firm of Thorndike, Doran, Paine and Lewis/Wellington Management Company where he served as Vice President, Senior Portfolio Manager and analyst. At Wellington, Stewart managed accounts for clients such as Duke Power Company, Sherwin-Williams, City of Savannah, GA, Chatham County, GA, Emerson Electric, Trane, Annuity Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, E-Systems, St. Mary's University, Sheet Metal Workers, University of Alabama Endowment, The Citadel Endowment, etc. His accounts totaled over $300 million.

 

He has furthered his investment training at Stanford University and a multitude of sessions at the University of Chicago in addition to other ongoing continuing education.

In addition to serving as a portfolio manager, his other major contributions included establishing a system for setting client investment objectives, founding and chairing the Future Themes Group that forecasts major trends in the economy and society that have investment significance over five years, and deriving a methodology to determine secular shifts in equity valuation (i.e., price/earnings ratios).

Prior to joining Thorndike/Wellington, Stewart was an investment analyst with The Hartford Insurance Group for three years. Overall, he has been an investment professional for 50 years.

Stewart's initial employment after receiving his MBA degree was in the Office of the Director at the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency. Also, he spent time working with NASA on the moon project under Dr. Wernher von Braun.

Stewart enjoys traveling and family.  He has 7 grandchildren.

Tom Heald, CFA

Thomas F. Heald, Vice President, serves as a portfolio manager and securities analyst. He is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charterholder and has been a practicing CPA (Certified Public Accountant). He holds an MBA degree from Emory University in Atlanta and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Georgia.

Tom began his career in the Atlanta office of Ernst & Young where he served nearly three years. The following five years he served with Cox Enterprises in the area of corporate finance. Tom has a broad business and professional background with acumen in investment analysis.

Tom is a former member of The Schenck School Board of Trustees.  The Schenck School focuses on the accelerated remediation of dyslexia for its students.  Away from the office he enjoys time with his family, golf, and snow skiing.

Scott Stewart, CFA, CFP ®

Scott Stewart serves as a portfolio manager and financial planner. He is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charterholder and a member of the Atlanta Society of Finance and Investment Professionals (ASFIP).

 

Scott is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERâ„¢ professional and a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA).

 

Scott joined the firm in 1998. He graduated from Michigan State University with a BA in Finance and completed the Executive Program for CFP® Certification through the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business.

 

Scott resides with his wife and two children in Smyrna.  He serves as Treasurer of St. Benedict’s Episcopal Church.  In his free time, Scott enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, photography and following the Michigan State football and basketball teams.

Matthew Eads, CFA

Matthew S. Eads serves as a portfolio manager and securities analyst. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

Matt has an MBA in Finance from Georgia Tech and a BA from The Virginia Military Institute. While at Georgia Tech, he worked on various consulting projects with companies such as The Coca-Cola Company and National Service Industries (NSI).  Matt also worked as an assistant portfolio manager at Trusco Capital Management within SunTrust Bank.

Matt is a frequent public speaker on the topic of investment management. He has appeared in the popular media and on Fox Atlanta television as an investment expert. In 2009, Matt was selected by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of Atlanta's "40 Under Age 40" top up & coming professionals.

Matt is an Eagle Scout, and is active in the Boy Scouts of America.  In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, competitive tennis, skiing, and sailing.
